Below is a list of courses that may be used to meet specific General Education Core requirements for various programs offered by TCC. In each academic area, the list includes courses that are part of the State Core and other courses that are part of the TCC Core.
Each program has unique requirements. Most Associate in Science degree programs require students to take several General Education State Core courses, while a few also require General Education TCC Core requirements.

Area A. Communications State Core
Area B. Communications TCC Core
Note: To satisfy the requirement of State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030, students must earn a grade of “C” or better in any Communications course used to fulfill the general education requirement and must produce multiple writing assignments in each of the courses.
Area A. Humanities State Core
Area B. Humanities TCC Core
Note: Students must produce multiple writing assignments and earn a grade of C or better in any Humanities course used to satisfy the writing requirement of State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030.
3. Mathematics
Area A. Mathematics State Core
Note: Any student who successfully completes a Mathematics course for which one of the Mathematics State Core courses is an immediate prerequisite shall be considered to have completed the Mathematics State Core requirement.
Area B. Mathematics TCC Core
Note: To satisfy the requirement of State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030, students must earn a grade of “C” or better in any Mathematics course used to fulfill the general education requirement.

- EVR 1001 Introduction to Environmental Science is not currently offered at TCC, but TCC will accept the course for transfer credit.
Note: Any student who successfully completes a Natural Sciences course for which one of the Natural Sciences State Core courses is an immediate prerequisite shall be considered to have completed the Natural Sciences State Core requirement.
