SYG2430 Marriage and the Family3 credit hour(s) | Fall | Spring | Summer Prerequisite(s): documented exemption, appropriate placement test scores or completion of developmental education reading and writing. An introductory course in marriage and the family designed to acquaint the student with a broad range of information about marriage and family relationships in a changing society. Topics include interpersonal attraction, intimate relationships, premarital and marital sexuality and marital and family interaction. The major course objective is to familiarize students with the process of heterosexual and parent-child interaction over the life cycle from a sociological perspective Lecture: 3 hours. Substantial writing component. Fulfills state writing requirement.
