Program Purpose:
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program at Tallahassee State College prepares students to understand foundational knowledge in basic science, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and nutrition. As well as clinical patient care related to phlebotomy, electrocardiography, parenteral administration, point of care testing, assessment & management skills. The program provides instruction on administrative tasks related to clinical medical assistants. The conduct of healthcare professionals is a point of emphasis. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the national certification exams for Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Certified EKG Technician, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA).

Admission Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Clear Level 2 Background Check
Clean Drug Test
Immunizations, including a negative TB screen and current flu vaccination
