MEA1206C Clinical Procedures I4 credit hour(s) Prerequisite(s): BSC2085 and HSC2531 The course will provide the skills and knowledge necessary for students to understand and provide assistance for the medical practitioner in multiple areas within the clinical office. The skills include vital signs, patient care, preparation for medical examinations, procedures, treatments, surgical and sterilization procedures using surgical instruments, and administering proper techniques for electrocardiogram (EKG) testing. In addition, students will gain and apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control in the clinical office. Pharmacology comprehension will be introduced in the course as well. Contact: 4 hours. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
