WOH2022 History of Civilization II3 credit hour(s) Prerequisite(s): documented exemption, appropriate placement test scores, or completion of developmental education reading and writing. Courses must afford students an understanding of the basic social and behavioral science concepts and principles used in the analysis of behavior and past and present social, political, and economic issues. World history in the modern era: the European expansion to the rest of the world, the growth of Western absolutism, the Enlightenment and the great modern revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, the Indian, far Eastern, and African backgrounds and political developments, the rise of Latin America, the World Wars and their results, the decline of Colonialism, modern nationalism. Topics include: the events in world history in modern times, and to examine the political, economic, and social views as they developed and continue to develop in the world. Lecture: 3 hours.
