EMS0110 Emergency Medical Technician0 credit hour(s)
This course introduces the role of the emergency medical technician. It is designed to teach students to employ critical thinking skills to assess a patient scenario, create a plan of care and implement the plan. Topics include public health, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient assessment, airway management, trauma, toxicological and environmental emergencies, submersion incidents, and infection control. This course includes didactic, laboratory, and clinical application of concepts and procedures. 300 clock hours. Does not count toward A.A. or A.S. degree.
