EUH1000 Western Civilization I

Prerequisite(s): documented exemption, appropriate placement scores, or completion of developmental education reading and writing.
Courses must afford students an understanding of the basic social and behavioral science concepts and principles used in the analysis of behavior and past and present social, political, and economic issues. A survey of the major economic, social, political, religious, and cultural institutions and ideas from the beginning of western civilization to the early modern European period. To examine the major events in the history of western civilization from antiquity to the 17th century and to examine the social, religious, scientific, cultural, political, and intellectual developments in Europe from antiquity to the 17th century. Lecture: 3 hours.
