Health Information Technology, A.S. (2159)

Program Purpose:
To prepare students for employment as health information technicians or medical record technicians, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations.

Health information technicians, medical record technicians in a variety of healthcare settings
Program Length:
70 credit hours
Admission Requirements:
- Admission requirements for TPP programs are the same as admission to the College: standard high school diploma or GED diploma. Most TPP program courses require students to be College-ready, which means the student must have appropriate placement scores, complete any needed developmental education or meet the requirements for a documented exemption.
- Satisfactory completion of program prerequisite courses

Note:
To satisfy State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030, students must earn a grade of “C” or better in any Communications, Humanities, Social Science or Mathematics course used to fulfill general education requirements.
