Program Purpose:
The purpose of the certificate in cyber forensics is to prepare students to examine information, security legal issues, digital forensics, and cybercrime. Students learn cyber forensics investigation procedures while assessing federal and state laws that impact private and government organizational information security. They gain foundational knowledge about the skills and technology required to detect, investigate, and deter cybercrime. Key topics include information security governance, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, identity theft, phishing, and hacking.
Coursework in this program articulates into the Network Systems Technology, A.S. (2165) degree program.
