Program Purpose:
This advanced program provides a second level of technical training for graduates of the
Welding Technology Career Certificate Program (5023A) program at TSC, or for graduates of another Florida state college or technical college welding PSAV program (1170 hours or 1050 hours).
This program emphasizes advanced welding skills in pipe and shielded metal arc welding, pipe fitting fabrication, and gas tungsten arc welding. It also prepares welders for emerging technologies including, but not limited to, robotics, hybrid laser arc and adaptive welding.
Program Length:
750 clock hours
Admission Requirements:
- Graduation from a Florida state college or technical college welding PSAV program (1050 hours)
Note: Students must take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) within the first semester of enrollment in the program or present evidence of allowable substitute. (Learn more .) In order to successfully complete the program, students must earn a score of 9.0 or higher in all three areas of the TABE (mathematics, language, reading).
