STA2023 Introductory Statistics3 credit hour(s) | Fall | Spring | Summer Prerequisite(s): grade of C or better in MAT1033 or appropriate placement score. This course demonstrates how to apply selected statistical techniques to a wide variety of problems and situations arising in the areas of business, economics, finance, management, social science, health, psychology and education. Topics include graphical description of data, measures of location and dispersion, probability, discrete and continuous random variables, sampling distributions and estimation, confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, and simple linear regression and correlation. A TI-84 or graphing calculator with equivalent statistical features is required. Lecture: 3 hours.
